About the Role
Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital (PPMH) is seeking an accomplished and visionary Director of the Emergency Center to provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for one of the region’s most advanced emergency and trauma programs. Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for all Emergency Center activities.
- Direct day-to-day clinical and administrative operations for a high-volume emergency department.
- Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
- Develop and execute initiatives to improve patient flow, capacity management, and ED throughput.
- Lead workforce planning, recruitment, retention, succession planning, and staff development efforts.
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators including patient experience, door-to-provider times, length of stay, Left Without Being Seen (LWBS), and clinical quality outcomes.
- Manage departmental budgeting, productivity, labor management, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with DNV standards, CMS regulations, state requirements, and hospital policies.
- Collaborate with physician leadership and multidisciplinary teams to support organizational goals and strategic initiatives.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia or eligibility for licensure.
- AHA BLS certification.
- Progressive leadership experience within Emergency Services.
- Demonstrated success leading large teams in a complex acute-care environment.
- Strong knowledge of emergency department operations, quality metrics, regulatory requirements, and budget management.
