About the Role
Lead product strategy and execution for merchant onboarding experiences that support credit risk and underwriting decisioning for small businesses. Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable, compliant, and efficient onboarding journeys.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end merchant onboarding experiences supporting risk and underwriting requirements, including KYB, KYC, identity verification, business verification, and underwriting data capture.
- Design and optimize onboarding flows to collect required data and documentation based on credit risk, underwriting, and fraud requirements.
- Translate decision outcomes into clear onboarding experiences that support merchant understanding and completion.
- Partner with Credit Risk, Underwriting, Fraud, and Data Science teams to operationalize evolving requirements into product requirements, workflow changes, and user experience enhancements.
- Drive integration and orchestration with third-party verification and data providers for underwriting and onboarding needs.
- Define, monitor, and improve key performance indicators, including onboarding conversion, decision latency, manual review rate, boarding speed, and time to first transaction.
- Lead cross-functional delivery across Engineering, Design, Operations, and go-to-market teams to deliver scalable onboarding capabilities.
- Balance onboarding speed, data collection, and control requirements to improve approval rates and downstream merchant activation while maintaining compliance.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in product management leading complex digital product initiatives, including onboarding, account origination, payments, fintech, credit risk, underwriting, or fraud-related experiences.
- 6+ years of experience translating business, risk, and operational requirements into product requirements, process flows, and customer-facing experiences in regulated environments.
- 6+ years of experience using performance metrics, experimentation, and data analysis to prioritize enhancements and measure product outcomes.
- Experience working with cross-functional partners across Credit Risk, Underwriting, Fraud, Data Science, Engineering, Design, Operations, and go-to-market teams.
- Experience defining and managing measurable product performance indicators such as conversion, latency, manual review rates, and activation outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in business, product management, technology, finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.
- Experience with self-service and sales-assisted merchant onboarding journeys.
- Experience with structured query language (SQL), analytics tools, or experimentation frameworks.
- Experience integrating with third-party identity verification, business verification, or underwriting data providers.
- Experience supporting small business or merchant acquiring products.
- Must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization.
