About the Role
The Data Science Analyst will join the Healthcare team within Global Investment Research to identify where data science, AI, and alternative data can create differentiated investment insights across the healthcare sector. This role involves working closely with Global Industry Analysts and Portfolio Managers to translate investment questions into actionable analytical outputs.
Responsibilities
- Partner directly with Global Industry Analysts and Portfolio Managers.
- Translate investment questions into testable data science workflows.
- Apply AI and agentic tools to streamline research and generate investment ideas.
- Communicate results, including limitations, confidence levels, and interpretation risks.
- Serve as a data science resource for the Healthcare team.
- Rapidly acquire knowledge on new companies, sub-sectors, and business models.
- Assess and sequence requests based on investment impact and feasibility.
- Develop analytical frameworks from alternative and structured healthcare datasets.
- Evaluate dataset quality, coverage, bias, and signal durability.
- Build repeatable tools and research outputs for the sector.
- Partner with Data Engineering to productionize high-value signals.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of experience in data science, alternative data, investment research, or healthcare analytics.
- Prior experience working with investment teams or senior business stakeholders.
- Strong Python and SQL skills.
- Proficiency with AI/LLM tooling and agentic workflows.
- Experience working with large, real-world datasets.
- Hands-on experience sourcing and evaluating alternative datasets.
- Ability to evaluate dataset quality, bias, and signal robustness.
- Investment acumen and understanding of how data translates into investment theses.
- Ability to translate ambiguous questions into concrete analyses.
- Strong communication skills for presenting to senior stakeholders.
- High judgment and ability to operate independently.
