About the Role
PDF Seal, a division of ProMach, is seeking a Machine Mechanic for their Hauppauge location. This role is crucial for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting various machinery and mechanical equipment, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, and maintain machinery and mechanical systems.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Use tools and equipment such as wrenches, calipers, diagnostic machines, hand taps, and multimeters.
- Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and technical drawings.
- Test and calibrate machines to ensure proper functionality.
- Adhere to safety regulations and company protocols.
- Keep maintenance records and document repair work.
- Conduct electrical and electromechanical troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with the Plant Manager and production team to address machine breakdowns efficiently.
- Respond to production emergency calls for breakdown maintenance, assess severity, and communicate timeline estimates to supervisors.
Requirements
- Experience in machine maintenance and repair.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environments.
