About the Role
Billboard is seeking a creative, music-obsessed Director of Branded Content to lead the development and execution of custom content across video, live events, and talent-driven partnerships. This role oversees branded content production from ideation through execution while shaping the creative and stylistic vision for the Brand Studio team.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales and strategy teams on pre-sale creative development, pitch ideation, and budget planning for multi-platform programs.
- Lead development and pre-production for sold programs, including creative treatments, social concepting, and production planning.
- Oversee end-to-end creative execution across branded video, social, and live event content.
- Provide overarching creative direction to ensure a cohesive, premium brand vision.
- Develop innovative, social-first creative strategies to maximize audience engagement and cultural relevance.
- Lead talent partnerships and bookings, including negotiations and logistics.
- Review and refine treatments, scripts, copy, and video cuts with a strong editorial eye.
- Deliver live presentations to align partners with the creative vision.
- Perform video editing and post-production tasks including cutdowns, string-outs, and final edit management.
- Manage QC and final delivery of video assets for client, social, and event use.
- Partner cross-functionally with internal teams to deliver best-in-class storytelling.
- Build and maintain relationships with freelance and external creative partners.
- Collaborate on campaign reporting, wrap materials, and final program delivery.
- Oversee digital publishing workflows across platforms including WordPress, JW Player, and Brightcove.
Requirements
- 8-10 years of experience producing branded video and social content within a major media, entertainment, or agency environment.
- Deep understanding of music, pop culture, and visual storytelling.
- Strong portfolio showcasing video, digital, and experiential creative work.
- Established network of creative freelancers and production partners.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of mentoring creative talent.
- Ability to balance big-picture vision with hands-on execution.
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience managing talent-facing productions and high-profile partnerships.
- Proficiency in video editing and design tools including Premiere, CapCut, and Adobe.
- Proficiency with content management and publishing platforms including WordPress, JW Player, and Brightcove.
- Familiarity with Keynote, JIRA, and Salesforce.
- Comfortable leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies.
- Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
