About the Role
Join our school nutrition team to prepare fresh, nutritious meals that help students learn and thrive. This role offers a family-friendly schedule with no nights, weekends, or holidays.
Responsibilities
- Cook and prepare a variety of meals according to school menus
- Ensure all food is safely cooked and presented with care
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace
- Work with team members to serve meals in a timely, friendly manner
- Support special dietary needs and food allergy safety procedures
- Complete temperature logs and production records accurately and on time
- Manage timing and sequencing of cooking operations to meet meal service deadlines
- Ensure stations are stocked, clean, and properly maintained
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of professional culinary or food service experience
- ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe
- Local food safety certification
- Proficiency in recipe procedures and cooking techniques
- Ability to speak and read English sufficient to perform job assignments
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand for the majority of the workday
- Complete all Whitsons and government-required training
