About the Role
Facilities Care Specialists are responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and presentable facility at Bouldering Project. These staff members have a direct impact on the experience of every individual that walks through the door, helping to create a welcoming and healthy environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform regular cleaning duties including vacuuming climbing mats, mopping floors, dusting, cleaning restrooms, and sanitizing fitness equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable facility and retail area.
- Maintain and clean facility grounds and building as needed.
- Perform regular bathroom and facility walkthroughs, immediately remedying instances in need of attention.
- Follow opening and closing cleaning and facility procedures.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks as needed.
- Ensure the safety of staff and customers via regular safety walkthroughs.
- Respond to accidents and incidents following the Safety Manual and Protocol.
- Administer first aid in accordance with Safety Manual and BP Protocol.
- Document incidents through incident report log.
Requirements
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Reliable, self-directed, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable and able to work 5pm-1am Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn cleaning chemical safety and proper handling.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move continuously for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching.
- Ability to push and pull wheeled equipment (mops, carts, vacuums).
- Ability to climb ladders and step stools.
Skills
- Janitorial experience
- Custodial experience
- Facilities maintenance experience
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning equipment and techniques
- Experience with floor care equipment (auto scrubbers, burnishers, extractors)
- SDS/chemical safety awareness
