About the Role

Facilities Care Specialists are responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and presentable facility at Bouldering Project. These staff members have a direct impact on the experience of every individual that walks through the door, helping to create a welcoming and healthy environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular cleaning duties including vacuuming climbing mats, mopping floors, dusting, cleaning restrooms, and sanitizing fitness equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable facility and retail area.
  • Maintain and clean facility grounds and building as needed.
  • Perform regular bathroom and facility walkthroughs, immediately remedying instances in need of attention.
  • Follow opening and closing cleaning and facility procedures.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Ensure the safety of staff and customers via regular safety walkthroughs.
  • Respond to accidents and incidents following the Safety Manual and Protocol.
  • Administer first aid in accordance with Safety Manual and BP Protocol.
  • Document incidents through incident report log.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Reliable, self-directed, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable and able to work 5pm-1am Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn cleaning chemical safety and proper handling.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move continuously for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching.
  • Ability to push and pull wheeled equipment (mops, carts, vacuums).
  • Ability to climb ladders and step stools.

Skills

  • Janitorial experience
  • Custodial experience
  • Facilities maintenance experience
  • Familiarity with commercial cleaning equipment and techniques
  • Experience with floor care equipment (auto scrubbers, burnishers, extractors)
  • SDS/chemical safety awareness
