About the Role

The Principal Pricing Analyst will play a key role in delivering a price to market that offers the best value to both customers and the business. This role is crucial for optimizing rates within the Home product portfolio to achieve optimal market pricing.

Responsibilities

  • Deputise for the manager and support the development of junior team members.
  • Lead and support the team with pricing analysis.
  • Present to the Trading Forum when required.
  • Contribute to delivering agreed outcomes.
  • Deliver technical projects to improve underwriting performance against common technical modelling standards and adherence to data controls.
  • Regularly review pricing and underwriting monitors, escalating key points.
  • Define, set priorities, and report on project work and rate reviews/analysis with the manager.
  • Assist in coaching and developing colleagues within the team for continuous up-skilling.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with large data sources.
  • Good command of Python, SQL, SAS, or similar coding languages.
  • Experience with Willis Towers Watson software suite, primarily Radar, or similar tools like Earnix.
  • Solid knowledge of relevant statistical modelling methods, particularly GLMs.
  • Knowledge of relevant machine learning techniques, particularly GBMs.
  • Good understanding of the elements of price setting and optimization for business targets.
  • Good stakeholder management skills, including communication, expectation management, and conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships within the Pricing Department and the wider business.
