About the Role
Join a global business of investment professionals as a mid-level transaction lawyer. You will work closely with legal, tax, compliance, and investment teams on diverse private market transactions and internal initiatives, ensuring smooth closings and advising on key transaction terms.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal support and clear advice to investment teams on private markets transactions, including primaries, secondaries, and co-investments.
- Review and negotiate transaction documents with investment managers and their legal and tax advisors.
- Own the legal workstream and sign off on final documents for execution.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel, managing timely delivery of advice within scope and budget.
- Address legal questions arising from investments in private equity funds, including tax and regulatory topics.
- Maintain up-to-date legal knowledge to ensure compliance with policies and legislation.
- Support the wider Legal and Compliance team on internal projects, processes, and improvements.
Requirements
- Experience gained in a law firm or legal department of an asset or fund manager with hands-on private markets transactions experience.
- Strong understanding of closed-ended funds, common transaction structures, and their practical application.
- Excellent organizational, drafting, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage expectations.
- Proactive and confident in taking initiative and ownership, with a continuous-improvement mindset.
- Team player who offers to help colleagues and shares workload.
- Enthusiastic and looking to develop a long-term career in-house.
