About the Role

Hennick Humber Hospital is seeking a volunteer Artificial Intelligence Expert to serve on the Research Ethics Board. This role involves reviewing scientific research studies to ensure the protection of human participants, with a focus on improving reviews for future research projects involving AI/ML.

Responsibilities

• Review proposed scientific research studies to ensure the protection of human participants.
• Keep in mind scientific, ethical, regulatory, and legal considerations during reviews.
• Improve reviews for future research projects by applying AI/ML expertise.
• Attend monthly meetings (virtual on MS Teams or ZOOM).

Requirements

• Expertise and/or extensive knowledge in the field of Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning that can be applied to research studies in a hospital-based setting.
• All types of diversity in terms of race, ethnicity, gender, gender orientation, skills, interests, languages, life circumstances, abilities, spiritual or religious affiliations, and more.
• Adequate time and interest in volunteering.
• Able to attend virtual meetings once a month on Thursday evenings from 5-7pm.
