Responsibilities
- Schedules all surgical procedures, necessary equipment, and pre-op testing to ensure a smooth surgical course for the patient.
- Coordinates patient scheduling with the surgeon's office and confirms bed availability for inpatient admissions.
- Schedules all procedures per blocked scheduling requirements and proactively fills all daily surgical slots.
- Interacts with physician offices and other involved departments to obtain necessary patient information and records for safe surgical procedures.
- Consults with other departments as needed and appropriate to provide an interdisciplinary approach to the patient's pre and post-surgical needs.
- Performs daily chart audits.
- Assists with pre-op interview patient flow.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of similar experience required.
