About the Role
Lead the design, modeling, and coordination of complex mechanical systems for hyperscale and AI-driven data centers across the United States. Ensure all systems meet the highest standards of efficiency, sustainability, safety, and compliance with codes and client requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical engineering design activities on major projects in the United States
- Design, model, and simulate mechanical systems for hyperscale and AI data centers, including HVAC, piping, plumbing, cooling towers, chilled water systems, and boilers
- Prepare engineering calculations and detailed mechanical drawings
- Design highly energy-efficient and sustainable systems
- Create technical documentation for project execution, including design criteria and specifications
- Ensure project requirements are met in terms of scope, cost, and schedule
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to coordinate BIM models and resolve conflicts
- Review shop drawings for compliance with engineering codes and safety standards
- Develop and maintain project scope documentation and revisions
- Utilize BIM tools for virtual construction of mechanical systems and coordination with other disciplines
- Manage and coordinate projects, including on-site supervision
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress
- Support construction administration
- Utilize laser scanning technology to document installation states
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university
- 5 to 10 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience, preferably in the construction industry
- Experience with data center projects or other large-scale industrial projects is a plus but not required
- Proficiency in BIM software (Autodesk Revit), CAD tools, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software preferred
- Strong understanding of mechanical manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with mechanical codes and safety standards
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong project management abilities, including the coordination and supervision of on-site activities
- Must hold a current Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. state
- Good project and client leadership skills
- Willingness to travel frequently to client sites
- Ability to work from home
