About the Role
The Accounting Solutions Expert will serve as the primary liaison between Blue Onion's AI-powered platform and finance teams. This role requires a blend of accounting expertise and technological enthusiasm to assist prospects and customers, guide implementations, and influence product development.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the in-house subject matter expert on order-to-cash, cash application, accounts receivable, and reconciliation processes and best practices.
- Partner with Sales during the pre-sales cycle, joining demos and discovery calls to answer technical/operational accounting questions and map prospect processes to the platform.
- Lead or support customer onboarding by understanding client workflows, chart of accounts, and AR systems, and configuring the platform accordingly.
- Translate complex accounting concepts into clear guidance for customers and internal teams.
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers' accounting and finance teams, ensuring they maximize platform value.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to relay customer feedback, identify gaps, and shape the product roadmap.
- Help build internal enablement content, playbooks, and training materials reflecting real-world accounting scenarios.
- Provide guidance to product and engineering teams on technical customer product requests and challenges to inform roadmapping.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- At least 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally with a combination of Big 4 and industry experience.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite, Quickbooks, Xero) and finance/accounting workflows.
- E-commerce experience is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively and teach others.
- Ability to handle various tasks simultaneously, prioritize open issues, and manage multiple deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to create customer solutions using industry experience and creativity.
- Experience with complex workflow automation and reconciliation.
