About the Role
The Department of Elections is seeking a seasonal bilingual (English-Chinese) clerk for the Voter Outreach unit to prepare for the November 3, 2026, General Election. This role involves interacting with diverse populations, presenting information in both languages, and supporting outreach efforts.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and conduct presentations at community events.
- Plan and manage logistics for events, providing election information in English and Chinese.
- Strengthen relationships with existing community partners.
- Identify new partner organizations and media serving San Francisco residents.
- Present organized data clearly in written reports and visual aids.
- Analyze data and metrics related to outreach efforts.
- Provide election information in English and Chinese courteously and professionally via office visits, email, and phone.
- Assist in the Election Center Phone Banks during Election Day.
- Assist with post-election tasks.
- Assist the public over the phone in a phone bank setting.
- Assist in the Ballot Delivery Program.
- Provide general clerical support and assist with other tasks.
Requirements
- One year of clerical experience including preparing and maintaining records, filing, using office equipment, public contact, and processing mail.
- Proficiency in English and Chinese.
- Ability to move and lift up to 40 pounds of outreach supplies and equipment.
- Valid California Driver’s License.
- Clean DMV record.
- Ability to present information in both Chinese and English clearly and engagingly.
- Ability to draft professional written correspondence.
- Familiarity with San Francisco neighborhoods.
- Proficiency in common computer programs such as Microsoft Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to use several applications simultaneously.
- Must be available to work overtime during the week and on weekends as necessary.

Salary/Compensations
- $66,898 to $81,328 annually
- $32.1625 to $39.1000 hourly
