About the Role
Pure Paws Veterinary Care of Clinton Hill is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Veterinary Assistant to join our team. You will work alongside experienced veterinarians and support staff to provide high-quality care and exceptional customer service to our patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries
- Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
- Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment
- Perform basic laboratory tests including blood, urine, and stool sample collection
- Administer medications and vaccinations under veterinary supervision
- Feed, bathe, and exercise animals
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Communicate with pet owners regarding care, treatment plans, and follow-up visits
- Clean and maintain the clinic, including stocking supplies
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of veterinary assistant experience
- Technical proficiency in disinfection, medication administration, and diagnostic equipment usage
- Physical ability to handle animals safely and compassionately
