About the Role

As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for the planning and management of all aspects of corporate accounts, from the selling process through project completion, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction. You will oversee customer relations and develop monthly project status reports.

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to analyze industry opportunities and uncover business opportunities with Fortune 500 global companies.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue within existing accounts and pursue new business.
  • Build and maintain accurate CRM data for current and future account leads and projects.
  • Lead networking initiatives by joining boards, speaking on industry panels, and facilitating connections.
  • Act as a thought leader by staying ahead of market trends, writing articles, and sharing insights.
  • Support account managers and customers with MillerKnoll Workplace Insights knowledge.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with existing clients and develop trusted advisor relationships.
  • Cultivate relationships with key account influencers and lead strategy sessions.
  • Lead the creation of comprehensive project schedules and guide internal and external teams.
  • Lead complex contract and service agreement negotiations with customer stakeholders.
  • Lead the development of in-depth pricing strategies, negotiate discounts, and collaborate with preferred vendors.
  • Lead the project team in finalizing complex project designs and ensuring alignment with client expectations.
  • Partner with vendor representatives on industry events and develop long-term strategies.
  • Proactively communicate with clients to ensure timely project execution and drive client vision.
  • Promote and sell design, installation, project management, and other services.
  • Effectively utilize creative and strategic negotiation skills to win and secure business opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of professional sales-related experience and/or training.
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or interior Design from a 4-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience and/or training in project administration, project management, or interior design may substitute for some experience or formal education.
  • Familiarity with the basics of project management.
  • Excellent presentation skills for sales pitches, client engagement, and negotiations.
  • Demonstrated ability to logistically plan all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • General understanding of furniture systems, electrical/cabling issues, building systems, and building codes.
  • Operations database experience.
  • Previous working experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to read and analyze architectural drawings and blueprints.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence in English.
  • Ability to effectively present information, written and verbal, in English.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply algebraic and geometric concepts involved in project design is desirable.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proof of valid California state driver’s license and proof of insurance of an operable vehicle required.
  • Healthcare clients may require documentation or other proof of COVID-19 vaccination, including proof of booster.
