About the Role
The Portfolio Manager is responsible for monitoring and assessing the credit risk of the bank's commercial loan portfolio, focusing on financial statement analysis, industry assessment, collateral valuation, and cash flow analysis.
Responsibilities
- Manage the bank's loan portfolio for existing relationships and conduct proactive oversight to identify potential weaknesses.
- Manage loan renewals and line increases for existing relationships.
- Perform annual reviews of existing loan relationships.
- Prepare portfolio reports for credit supervision, risk committees, and the Board.
- Assist in the preparation of Credit Administration reports, annual independent loan audits, and regulatory examinations.
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
- At least 4 years of experience in underwriting or loan portfolio management.
- Formal or on-the-job credit training is required.
- Experience in a commercial banking and commercial real estate environment is required.
- Demonstrated experience in credit risk and regulatory reporting.
- Established credit, industrial, and risk acumen.
- Ability to understand and interpret complex business and credit risk requirements.
- Ability to work across all levels of the organization to understand cross-functional linkages and the implications of risk and regulations.
- Strong communication skills, including the capacity to articulate the case for sound credit practices.
- Competent skill set with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with the Salesforce platform.
