About the Role

Gilbane is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join the Information Technology team. This role focuses on leveraging scientific research, statistics, machine learning, and AI to optimize business outcomes and drive strategic decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Apply scientific research methods, statistics, machine learning, and AI to deploy analytical solutions.
  • Develop stakeholder relationships to solve business problems and educate on analytics and AI/ML capabilities.
  • Identify critical drivers of predicted outcomes and guide business actions based on insights.
  • Partner with business SMEs to enrich model insights and ensure user adoption.
  • Mine, clean, and structure data while developing data pipelines and improving data quality.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering and BI teams to deploy models into production.
  • Develop causal inference and explanatory path models to identify key outcome drivers.
  • Work with stakeholders to implement business process changes based on model outputs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Master’s degree in statistics, data science, economics, psychology, or a quantitative-focused science required.
  • PhD preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of statistical analysis, predictive modeling, machine learning, data mining, feature engineering, and causal inference.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python or R.
  • Excellent communication and consultative skills.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and presentation delivery.
  • Must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
