About the Role

ASSYST is seeking a Cloud Data Migration Engineer to support a client project, focusing on migrating Oracle workloads to AWS using modern cloud-native architectures.

Responsibilities

• Migrate Oracle workloads to AWS using AWS DMS.
• Support full-load, CDC, and real-time streaming data migration architectures.
• Design and implement AWS infrastructure and networking components.
• Execute ETL/ELT processes and data integration methodologies.
• Develop migration planning, cutover, and rollback strategies.
• Automate migration tasks using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Monitor cloud environments using CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
• Modernize legacy on-premises systems in hybrid cloud environments.
• Document technical designs and migration runbooks.

Requirements

• Experience in IT supporting the design, development, deployment, or delivery of technology solutions.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) for Oracle to AWS migrations.
• Experience with batch and real-time data ingestion, including CDC and streaming.
• Proficiency in AWS infrastructure and networking design (VPC, subnets, security groups, routing).
• Experience with core AWS services including EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, and Lambda.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes in cloud migration projects.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience configuring cloud network security including VPNs and Direct Connect.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
• Experience developing migration, cutover, and rollback plans.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
