About the Role
Sid Harvey’s, an HVAC wholesale distributor, is seeking a full-time HVAC Counter Sales professional for its Rochester, NY location. This role focuses on providing excellent customer service, processing orders efficiently, and generating sales through product knowledge and up-selling.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers promptly and courteously at the counter, answering questions and processing orders.
- Generate sales through excellent customer service, add-on sales, and up-selling.
- Represent Sid Harvey’s professionally in all interactions.
- Perform all job responsibilities safely, timely, and efficiently.
- Conduct oneself in a professional and ethical manner.
- Treat external and internal customers and associates with courtesy and respect.
- Effectively promote MITCO and Sid Harvey Manufactured and Remanufactured products.
- Perform data entry and retrieval on the computer system, including customer orders, branch transfers, quotations, inventory, and pricing.
- Follow up on customer orders and resolve issues to customer satisfaction.
- Notify the Branch Manager of missed opportunities, such as out-of-stock or unavailable merchandise.
- Answer telephones professionally and pleasantly, assisting customers and taking orders.
- Provide product/job quotes as appropriate.
- Demonstrate and continuously update knowledge of Sid Harvey products (Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Heating) and inventory.
- Communicate relevant policies and procedures regarding purchases, returns, and credit terms to customers.
- Assist in maintaining the appearance of the branch, including cleaning counter areas and the warehouse.
- Report back orders and material discrepancies.
- Accurately perform cycle counts.
- Perform all duties safely, following all safety rules, and inform the manager of hazardous conditions.
- Assist in year-end physical inventories.
- Perform other responsibilities as directed.
Requirements
- Regularly required to stand and walk.
- Regularly required to carry and reach.
- Regularly required to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Frequently required to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Occasionally required to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Regularly required to read and identify numbers for accurate order filling, receiving, and payment processing.
- Required to apply sound reasoning and logic in performing daily tasks.
- Must be able to safely operate a forklift and/or pallet jack.
- Must be able to pass a drug test.
