About the Role

The Meyer Cancer Center (MCC) Office of Community Outreach and Engagement (OCOE) seeks a part-time program coordinator to support lung cancer education programs. This role will have a direct impact on lung cancer prevention and control among high-priority neighborhoods in Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan. The coordinator will develop, manage, and evaluate education and outreach initiatives, and build relationships with community-based organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains licenses, credentials, and reappointments for program faculty.
  • Manages procurement activities for goods, services, and equipment.
  • Assists with overall program quality assurance and compliance.
  • Supports patient selection, recruitment, scheduling, and outreach.
  • Assists with site visits and audits, ensuring readiness and compliance, and resolving issues.
  • Prepares materials for program-related presentations and may present them.
  • Aids in program development and patient flow assessment.
  • Maintains electronic and hard copy files and databases.
  • Performs patient care related activities, including scheduling appointments, obtaining referrals, and updating medical records.
  • Provides training to new staff on program systems, policies, and protocols.
  • Handles day-to-day administrative/clerical activities, including editing protocols, manuscripts, and abstracts.
  • Schedules and coordinates meetings.
  • Assists with maintaining the program’s website and promotional materials.

Requirements

  • Approximately 3 years of related experience coordinating specialty programs.

Skills

  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of third-party billing systems
