About the Role

The Loren Hotel, an internationally recognized luxury hotel group, is bringing understated luxury and sophistication to Austin. We are seeking individuals who question the ordinary and are passionate about life's zest and unpredictable turns to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Audit, balance, and report on various hotel areas including food and beverage outlets, rooms/front desk, and snack areas to ensure accuracy and adherence to policies.
• Prevent fraud by accurately reporting financial information.
• Respond professionally and courteously to guests, providing accurate information and services.
• Handle telephone and in-person inquiries regarding reservations, hotel information, and guest concerns.
• Audit and balance all food and beverage outlet cash and credit operations.
• Audit, balance, post, and report on front desk operations, ensuring accurate cash handling.
• Audit, balance, and prepare room information reports for management.
• Prepare and input statistics and income journal sheets for daily reports.
• Balance and close all bank ticket codes daily.
• Run night audit final after ensuring all revenues are in balance nightly.
• Greet and check-in arriving guests using manual and computerized methods.
• Facilitate guest check-out procedures.
• Maintain good customer relations by staying informed about hotel and area functions.
• Operate PBX equipment for incoming/outgoing calls, wake-up calls, and guest paging.
• Perform Front Desk Clerk duties, including express checkouts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous hotel experience in a guest-facing position preferred.
• 1+ years in a guest service position.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule is required.
• High school graduate level mathematical aptitude.
• Knowledge of standard cash handling procedures.
• Knowledge of computerized cash register systems.
• Experience in dealing directly with the public.
• General knowledge of basic customer service skills.
• Fluent in oral and written English.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions.
• Ability to work on more than one task at a time.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to use tact and understanding when dealing with customer service problems, including stressful situations.
• Highly organized and able to pay attention to minute details.
• 90% of shift is standing.
• Repeated bending and kneeling required while filing.
• Must be able to reach all areas of the hotel to assist clients.
• Occasional carrying and lifting of files and office items up to 25 lbs.
• Prolonged standing at indoor, thermostatically climate-controlled workstation under fluorescent lighting.
• Work inside 95% of the time.
