About the Role

The Enterprise Chief Controls Office (ECCO) is seeking an Associate Director of Operational Resilience & BCM Strategy to support the development and execution of RBC's multi-year operational resilience and BCM strategic program. This role involves working closely with senior leadership to drive enterprise-wide maturity progression, establish strategic milestones, and embed industry best practices. You will collaborate across business platforms and functions to align strategic priorities, research emerging resilience trends, and support stakeholder engagement. This is an opportunity to shape RBC's long-term resilience strategy while developing expertise in enterprise transformation and strategic program management.

Responsibilities

  • Support development and execution of the multi-year operational resilience and BCM strategic program roadmap across enterprise platforms
  • Assist in establishing program governance structures, milestones, and maturity models aligned with regulatory and business objectives
  • Track and report on program progress and maturity progression across assigned platforms and business units
  • Research and evaluate emerging industry best practices in operational resilience and BCM
  • Support participation in industry platforms and professional organizations to inform program enhancements
  • Collaborate with platforms, business functions, and Operational Resilience & BCM teams to support strategic program execution and stakeholder alignment
  • Support communication of resilience strategy, maturity progression, and program outcomes to senior management and key stakeholders
  • Identify and recommend strategic adjustments to address emerging operational risks and evolving business priorities

Requirements

  • 10-12 years of experience in Operational Resilience, Business Continuity Management, or Non-Financial Risk within large, complex financial institutions, with demonstrated experience supporting transformation and strategic uplift initiatives
  • Proven capability in designing and implementing enterprise-wide resilience and BCM frameworks, including strategic roadmaps, maturity models, and transformation programs
  • Demonstrated experience researching and evaluating industry best practices and translating external benchmarks into organizational strategy
  • Strong understanding of global regulatory requirements related to BCM, Operational Resilience, disaster recovery, and incident management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate strategic concepts to senior management and cross-functional partners
  • Strong analytical skills with experience tracking metrics, measuring maturity progression, and reporting on strategic program outcomes
  • Experience establishing enterprise monitoring, reporting, and metrics frameworks for BCM outcomes and compliance
  • Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional and cross-platform teams on BCM initiatives
  • Familiarity with BCM tools, platforms, and technology solutions that enhance execution and reporting
