About the Role

Seeking a Prevention Education Title IX Advocate to join our Jamestown Anew Center. This role focuses on primary prevention education, community outreach, and direct services related to sexual assault, rape, and domestic violence.

Responsibilities

• Read and adhere to The Salvation Army Employee Handbook and Anew Center policy and procedure manual.
• Develop and deliver education and prevention programs on rape, sexual assault, and domestic violence to students in schools and universities.
• Coordinate community educational programs to raise awareness about rape, sexual assault, and domestic violence.
• Attend outreach and speaking engagements as assigned.
• Inform staff and volunteers about trainings, coordinate registrations, and manage payments.
• Track training hours for DOH files, monitor compliance, and assist with DOH report compilation.
• Coordinate and provide initial and ongoing training for Anew Center staff and volunteers.
• Represent the organization in Coalition activities and subcommittee meetings.
• Assist in coordinating The Salvation Army activities throughout the year.
• Maintain accurate records and submit reports and statistics as required by funders.
• Collaborate with DSS, hospitals, law enforcement, and human service agencies.
• Participate in the Response Team Schedule, including shelter coverage, advocacy, debriefing, and critical situations.
• Provide crisis intervention, accompaniment, and advocacy services for legal, medical, educational, personal, financial, and housing issues.
• Comply with all fire and safety procedures.
• Act as a mandated reporter for suspected child abuse or neglect.
• Meet regularly with the Program Director and provide updates on program and services.
• Attend inter-agency, coalition, and community meetings.
• Be available for coverage of other shifts as needed.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by supervisors.

Requirements

• Must satisfactorily complete sexual assault training to be a certified rape crisis counselor.
• Must attend a minimum of 10 additional training hours per year.
• Must possess computer/typing skills for statistics, case files, and email communication.
• Must be able to drive a 12-passenger vehicle.
