About the Role
CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Designer 1 to join our Electric Transmission Team. This role supports the planning and design of electric transmission projects, offering an opportunity to build technical skills while working on essential infrastructure projects related to grid reliability and modernization.
Responsibilities
- Produce and revise simple engineering drawings or sketches under guidance, following technical standards.
- Examine drawings for accuracy and quality with support from senior team members.
- Participate in project review meetings and accompany senior staff on field assignments.
- Utilize drawing production software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and REVIT to create construction documents.
- Assist with contract document preparation to develop familiarity with electric transmission codes, standards, and design practices.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Engineering Science, or a related technical field required.
- No prior experience required; related document production experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Familiarity with design software (AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, etc.) and a willingness to learn electric transmission design practices.
