About the Role

Performs diagnostic laboratory tests including color Doppler ultrasound evaluation of the carotid, peripheral, and visceral venous and arterial systems, as well as plethysmographic testing. Responsible for preliminary interpretation and transmittal of study results to referring physicians.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and quality diagnostic studies
• Correlation with contrast angiography/CT scan/MR/operative findings/patient outcome
• Interaction w/ and education of referring physician
• Review diagnostic findings with Tech/Med Director
• Maintain adherence to the imaging workflow in EPIC and GE PACS
• Maintain quality patient care (e.g. IV pump operation, oxygen delivery, patient modesty, etc.)
• Maintain equipment and general lab appearance
• Stock supplies
• Retrieve linen from laundry

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound Program
• Registered Specialty with the ARDMS
• Requires 30 CE credits per three year rolling triennium to maintain active ARDMS status.
• Ability to utilize EPIC medical information system.
• Ability to utilize GE PACS.
• Ability to utilize Trophon disinfection systems.
• Workstation/PC operational knowledge.

Skills

• Knowledge/ability to operate diagnostic ultrasound units capable of B Mode, M Mode, color and pulse wave Doppler and 3D imaging.
