About the Role

Business Engineers are impact-focused, entrepreneurial engineers who apply software engineering skills with a blend of business and technology expertise to ensure client success. Working directly with clients, they design solutions and facilitate integration with Meta's platforms, operating at the intersection of business and innovation to solve real-world challenges across various industries and products like Video, Commerce, Monetization, Metaverse, Gaming, Creators, AI, and Messaging. The role involves writing scalable, production-grade code, learning diverse tech stacks, and creating opportunities for impact. The work aims to engineer and accelerate business growth, maximizing positive impact for clients and users.

Responsibilities

Serve as a trusted technical advisor to Meta's clients, understanding their challenges, facilitating platform integration, and providing field insights to Product teams.
Build new products and enhance existing ones based on market insights, collaborating with Meta product engineering teams and cross-functional partners.
Apply deep knowledge of products, technologies, and business to build scalable solutions.
Design and build end-to-end systems and develop launch-plan strategies.
Guide workflow changes and gain stakeholder consensus to drive solutions.
Maintain effective communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
Develop long-term strategic plans with clients based on business objectives and manage integrations with Meta's platform products to ensure value creation.
Build and manage strong relationships with technical counterparts, mentoring peers and fostering a positive team atmosphere.
Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and act on feedback received.
Influence decision-making by presenting data-centric business topics.
Act as a subject matter expert within Business Engineering, consulting on domain-level projects.
Participate in interviewing and onboarding new team members.
Willingness to travel 25% of the time.

Requirements

5+ years as a software engineer building and shipping production quality code.
Experience with open source languages such as PHP, Python, Android, Swift, Java, and JavaScript Frameworks.
Experience writing and shipping reliable, scalable, and efficient code with an emphasis on long-term maintainability, in partnership with reviewers, in manageable pieces with relevant documentation and test plans.
Experience with software design and architecture.
Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
