About the Role

The Legal Administrative Assistant will provide administrative and organizational assistance to the Managing Counsel and Law Clerk and will be responsible for the day-to-day support and regulatory tasks within the Legal & Compliance Department.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the contract approval process.
  • Assist with records retention management.
  • Assist with preparing PowerPoint presentations for legal training and compliance.
  • Liaise with third parties to gather information.
  • Accurately prepare legal documents and correspondence.
  • Organize and expedite the flow of work, initiating follow-up as appropriate.
  • Proactively support the Managing Counsel and Law Clerk with file maintenance, reminder systems, and managing expense reports.
  • Use initiative and good judgment to relieve the Managing Counsel and Law Clerk of administrative tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by professionals.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience working in a legal or similar environment.
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, can-do attitude with the ability to multi-task in response to changing priorities.
  • Sound business judgment, including the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong attention to detail and a desire to provide a high degree of accuracy in work product.
  • Motivated and resourceful, with the ability to take initiative and work independently and in a team setting.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop skills.
