About the Role
The role involves conducting site surveys and creating structured designs for voice, data, security, and audio-visual systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop technical documentation, implementation plans, and network solutions for both on-premise and cloud environments.
Responsibilities
- Complete site surveys and create structured designs for network systems
- Design engineered drawings, specifications, reports, and technical documents
- Analyze business and technical requirements to develop system designs and estimates
- Coordinate structured cabling design with other disciplines
- Implement final network solutions for on-prem and cloud environments
- Manage the production of network devices and architecture design
- Develop supporting documentation for global network implementation
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in implementation and engineering support for DoD enterprise networks
- 3+ years of experience with commercial hardware, networks, and cloud environments
- 2+ years of experience in network discovery, analysis, and documentation
- Ability to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations up to 40% of the time
- Secret clearance
- HS diploma or GED
- DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification
Skills
- Security, routing, and switching protocols (BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, LDP, RSVP, VPLS, STP, L3VPNs)
- Developing and executing test and implementation plans
- Communication with technical and non-technical personnel
- Networking technologies and core Internet protocols
- Wireless and distributed networks
- Multi-vendor networking solutions (Cisco, HP, Aruba, Palo Alto, Arista, Juniper)
- Cloud technologies and services (AWS, Azure)
- Structured cabling and installation standards
