About the Role

OhioHealth is hiring multiple Radiation Therapists due to expansion. This role involves delivering radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist, preparing patients for treatment, and performing simulations. As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Administers Radiation Therapy treatments on a daily basis.
• Maintains daily record of treatment, inclusive of daily dosages and calculations and other necessary treatment records.
• Performs simulations, acquires treatment parameters, patient contours and dose calculations.
• Therapists may be required to be on-call for weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
• Maintains patient schedules for In-Patients and Out-Patients, communicating frequently with families and hospital personnel to maintain schedule coordination and accommodate patients.
• Monitors patient condition and progress on a daily basis.
• Assists Radiation Oncologist in performance of Brachytherapy procedures.
• Oversees and directs clinical activities of Radiation Therapy Technology students.
• Provides clinical insight to Radiologic Technology students, nursing students, etc. as needed.
• Participates in Department Clinical QA activities, new patient conference, tumor board and QRM.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree
• AART-ODH - American Registry of Radiologic Technology - American Association of Radiologic Technologists
• ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
• BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
• LIC - Licensed in Field - State of Ohio
• Registered with the ARRT and licensed to practice in the State of Ohio
• Graduate of an approved Radiation Therapy Technology Training Program
• BLS Certification
