Provides in-home support and emergency response services to clients in the home support and assisted living environment.
Responsibilities
- Provides in-home support and emergency response services to clients in the home support and assisted living environment.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved and recognized Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent
- Current CPR & First Aid Certificate
- Registration with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) preferred.
- Client-centred care focus with strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem-solve and time manage
- Ability to work independently as well as be an active, positive team player
- Computer literacy (MS Office). Basic knowledge of Alayacare, Workday an asset.
- Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Screen result
- Ability to communicate in English and Chinese
- Considerable standing, walking, lifting and bending.
- Exposure to all client care elements through regular client contact.
- Shift work, including days, evenings, nights and weekends
- Regular travel within the Greater Toronto and Mississauga area
- Use of own vehicle
- Successful applicants must provide a recent satisfactory vulnerable sector police reference check and medical clearance certificate.
