About the Role
This is a full-time, entry-level position focused on studying tissue culture and transgenic mouse models of Alzheimer's disease. Responsibilities include isolation of extracellular vesicles and performing biochemical and immunolabeling/histological analyses. The role supports Postdoctoral Fellows and offers the opportunity for research autonomy.
Responsibilities
- Animal handling.
- Biochemical analyses.
- Immunolabeling/histology of fixed tissue.
- Collection of data, including quantitative microscopic analyses of fixed immunolabeled tissue.
- General laboratory work/preparation.
- Cell culture.
Requirements
- BS in Neuroscience
- Previous research experience
- Previous experience with immunohistochemistry
- Experience with GraphPad Prism
- Experience with poster presentation
- Cell culture experience preferred
- Some experience with Western Blot
- Experience handling small laboratory animals preferred
- Prospective appointees will be checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs.
- Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment.
- Prospective appointees will be screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR).
- Prospective employees whose names are indicated on the SCR may be barred from appointment.
