About the Role
The Semiconductor Quality Control Technician is responsible for executing and overseeing quality assurance activities on high-purity and cleanroom construction projects within the semiconductor industry. This role plays a key part in ensuring all construction processes, materials, and installations meet regulatory requirements, project specifications, and CAM’s rigorous quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and enforce quality control protocols on active semiconductor projects.
- Conduct daily inspections and audits of materials, installations, and construction activities to ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, and cleanroom standards.
- Document inspection results, non-conformances, and corrective actions with accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with construction managers, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve quality-related issues and implement corrective measures.
- Support startup, decontamination, and flush operations with quality oversight and verification.
- Ensure proper documentation control and maintain traceability of welds, material certifications, and inspection logs.
- Stay informed on evolving industry standards, quality tools, and regulatory changes impacting semiconductor construction.
- Maintain a visible presence in the field and actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in quality control or quality assurance in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or cleanroom construction environments.
- Strong understanding of quality control methods, material inspections, and testing procedures in high-purity construction.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting P&IDs, blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.
- Experience with quality management software (e.g., Procore, Autodesk, or equivalent) is a strong asset.
- Working knowledge of cleanroom protocols and contamination control standards.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Frequent exposure to active construction sites and variable weather conditions.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks including climbing, kneeling, crouching, lifting (up to 25 lbs), and walking for extended periods.
- Regular inspections may require work in confined spaces, elevated platforms, and controlled cleanroom environments.
- Willingness to work second/third shifts, weekends, or respond to emergency calls to meet critical project milestones.
- Use of cleanroom PPE (e.g., bunny suit, respirator) and chemical suits required for certain operations.
