Shape the strategy and roadmap for the Data Platform, which powers Crunchbase's competitive advantage and enables millions of users and AI-powered products to discover, understand, and act on business information. Lead product direction for data acquisition, management, and delivery, focusing on improving data quality, coverage, freshness, and reliability while identifying new opportunities to expand the proprietary dataset. This strategic role balances long-term platform investments with customer and business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Drive investments to improve the quality, coverage, freshness, reliability, and scalability of core data assets.
  • Expand the breadth and depth of the proprietary dataset.
  • Balance foundational platform improvements with strategic initiatives that strengthen competitive advantage.
  • Partner with Engineering, Data Science, Sales, CS, Partnerships, and Legal teams to align platform capabilities with business priorities and customer needs.
  • Define product requirements and prioritize initiatives across data ingestion, enrichment, entity resolution, data quality, governance, and platform infrastructure.
  • Establish metrics and feedback mechanisms to measure and improve data quality, platform reliability, operational efficiency, and downstream product impact.
  • Collaborate with internal product teams to understand evolving data needs and enable differentiated customer experiences.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, including AI and automation, to improve data operations.
  • Make thoughtful product tradeoffs across technical complexity, business value, and long-term platform health.
  • Measure the success of platform investments through various metrics including data quality, coverage, freshness, platform adoption, operational efficiency, customer impact, and business outcomes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with experience building data, platform, infrastructure, or other highly technical products.
  • A track record of defining product strategy and delivering products in partnership with engineering and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of modern data platforms and concepts such as data ingestion, data quality, data modeling, governance, APIs, or platform services.
  • Experience balancing technical investments with customer and business needs, making thoughtful product tradeoffs that maximize long-term impact.
  • Ability to partner effectively with Engineering, Data Science, AI, Design, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable platform capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using qualitative and quantitative insights to inform product decisions.
  • Experience defining success metrics and using data to measure product and platform performance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority and align teams around a shared vision.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and breaking down complex technical problems into clear product strategies and execution plans.
  • A passion for building the foundational platforms and data capabilities that enable exceptional customer experiences.
  • Experience working with AI-powered products, data enrichment, or machine learning applications.
  • Familiarity with graph data, entity resolution, knowledge graphs, or large-scale business datasets.
  • Experience working on B2B SaaS, developer platforms, or data-intensive products.
