About the Role

Provide functional guidance to project engineers, manage capital project activity, and oversee the capital budget. Ensure engineers meet business objectives and manage project spending effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and work assignments to project engineers, project or construction consultants, and similar technical resources.
  • Coordinate activities of direct reports to support projects, business development, turnarounds, or general maintenance/plant troubleshooting.
  • Supervise and develop personnel through managing processes.
  • Provide maintenance excellence support by developing best practices and coaching/training in SAP PM.
  • Directly support high-profile programs with direct reports.

Requirements

  • Possess a 4-year engineering degree or greater from an accredited university (typically ChE, ME, or EE).
  • Understand complex technical problems and solutions.
  • Demonstrate assessment skills involving capital management and construction support.
  • Utilize spreadsheets, SAP, and other tools to evaluate spend vs. budget or outlook, scheduling, and related metrics.
  • Exercise judgment regarding the efficient use of functional (project) personnel.
  • Possess engineering background sufficient to understand sound engineering practices and concepts.
  • Exhibit communication skills at both detailed and summary levels.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills to manage multiple people managing multiple projects.
  • Show coordination skills to handle multiple activities by priority simultaneously.
