About the Role
Responsible for preparing physical damage estimates on vehicles for submitted claims, providing high-level customer service, and controlling claim severities. This role requires extensive travel within specific regions.
Responsibilities
- Survey damages, prepare estimates, and negotiate settlements for partial and total losses within the established authority level.
- Issue drafts to the appropriate parties.
- Document the claim file as necessary.
- Complete re-inspections and supplements in a timely manner and in accordance with all guidelines.
- Comply with all production standards and estimating guidelines.
- Ensure service, expense control, and public relations are maintained at all times.
- Complete reports on investigative assignments.
- Participate in team meetings.
- Participate in catastrophic claim handling when requested, which may include overnight travel for extended periods.
- Adhere to privacy guidelines and NJ Fair Claims Practices and/or New York Regulation 64.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid Driver’s license and have a favorable driving record.
- Must be able to work outside in inclement weather and drive long distances.
- Must be comfortable completing inspections of damaged vehicles, including crawling under and around vehicles and inspecting vehicles in tight quarters at body shops and salvage yards.
- Must be willing to participate in catastrophe claim handling when requested, which may include traveling to other locations, extended and weekend hours, and up to a three-week stay away from home.
- Must have a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Must be organized and possess the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Body shop experience is a plus but not required.

- $74,000 to $100,000 annually
