About the Role
Analyze credit of US subsidiaries of Japanese and/or Asian companies to prepare credit applications. Report to a team leader, collaborate with relationship managers, and communicate with credit departments in the US and Japan.
Responsibilities
- Conduct analysis and research on borrower and parent performance to assess historical performance and future projections, including cash flow analysis and risk capital calculations.
- Gather support documentation to structure deals, liaise with middle and back office for KYC purposes, and assist in drafting pre-screen memos for the Credit Department.
- Conduct quarterly and annual reviews of loan portfolios and handle system and procedural issues related to borrowers, such as internal grading, monthly/quarterly reporting, and ad hoc projects.
- Assist with amendments, new originations, loan closings and funding, and other credit events impacting borrowers.
- Undertake research and analytics related to specific sectors, regions, or loans, and stay abreast of current market conditions.
- Provide ad hoc reports for management.
Requirements
- Formal credit training preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working at a corporate bank or other financial institution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or Accounting preferred or equivalent education and training.
- Japanese language skill is required.
Skills
- Highly proficient MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills are required.
