About the Role
Lendmarq is seeking an experienced Head of Core Servicing & Special Servicing to lead the strategy, operations, and performance of the company's loan servicing platform. This executive will oversee both Core and Special Servicing functions, establish best-in-class servicing practices, develop scalable processes, and implement performance metrics to enhance borrower experience and portfolio performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead all day-to-day loan servicing operations from boarding through payoff.
- Oversee payment processing, escrow administration, customer inquiries, payoff processing, draw management, and servicing transfers.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, investor, and internal servicing requirements.
- Develop servicing policies, procedures, and quality control standards that support operational excellence.
- Monitor servicing KPIs.
- Drive automation, workflow improvements, and technology enhancements to improve servicing efficiency and scalability.
- Oversee vendor relationships including sub-servicers, inspection vendors, and servicing technology providers.
- Ensure accurate investor reporting, portfolio reporting, reconciliations, and servicing data integrity.
- Develop and execute strategies for managing delinquent, distressed, and non-performing loans.
- Oversee loan modifications, extensions, forbearance agreements, restructurings, repayment plans, and negotiated resolutions.
- Direct foreclosure, bankruptcy, deed-in-lieu, short sale, and REO management activities.
- Partner with legal counsel to manage litigation and foreclosure timelines while maximizing recoveries.
- Establish recovery strategies that balance borrower outcomes with portfolio performance.
- Build, mentor, and develop high-performing Core and Special Servicing teams.
- Establish departmental goals, service standards, productivity metrics, and performance expectations.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives that improve servicing operations and customer experience.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on servicing strategy, portfolio performance, staffing, and technology investments.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, operational excellence, and exceptional borrower service.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of progressive servicing experience including full servicing life system.
- Extensive knowledge of loan servicing operations, payment processing, escrow administration, investor reporting, and servicing compliance.
- Demonstrated expertise in loan workouts, restructurings, modifications, foreclosures, bankruptcies, REO management, and asset recovery.
- Ability to assess risk, develop recovery strategies, and drive outcomes in high-pressure or time-sensitive situations.
- Experience collaborating with legal counsel, investors, and internal stakeholders to execute resolutions.
