About the Role

The Lead Specialist – Maintenance independently manages all planned and unplanned maintenance activities at service stations and convenience stores within a defined geography using third-party contractors and vendors. This role is responsible for all on-site maintenance, including forecourt and backcourt facilities, managing expenses, capital budgets, and contracted SLAs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage maintenance activities and contractors/vendors at Sunoco properties, convenience stores, and related facilities in PA, NY, NJ, and New England.
  • Oversee expenses, capital budgets, and SLAs for maintenance repairs in the assigned area.
  • Collaborate with the dispatch team to manage workload and resolve issues.
  • Support the Operations team to ensure excellent customer service related to maintenance issues.
  • Meet with service partners, Operations, and Dealers on-site to discuss issues and solutions.
  • Provide status updates on maintenance issues, projects, and programs, and offer feedback on escalations.
  • Support acquisition integration of new assets.
  • Investigate and resolve invoice disputes related to maintenance services.
  • Attend meetings, develop reports, and make presentations to management.
  • Maintain station uptime and meet expected work order SLA metrics.
  • Communicate programs effectively to key management personnel.
  • Be available for after-hours maintenance emergencies and provide guidance for issue resolution.
  • Resolve UST issues with Sunoco’s Compliance department.
  • Ensure familiarity with state/local codes and requirements.
  • Communicate with multiple groups simultaneously to resolve issues and provide guidance.
  • Enforce Sunoco’s Safety & Security policies for service partners and vendors.
  • Identify new potential vendors, onboard them, and direct service partners for maintenance projects.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to all company policies, procedures, and protocols.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering/Construction management or related field is preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in maintenance/construction/engineering supporting repairs and construction activity at various retail locations.
  • Possess detailed knowledge and experience in property management, maintaining commercial real estate facilities, maintaining POS/dispenser equipment and UST systems.
  • Ability to work and perform with minimal supervision.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, analytical skills, and strong computer skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Candidates must possess the ability to fly.
  • Must have the ability to wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) during on-site visits.
