About the Role

Tech Lead for ToolHound, a mature, profitable tool-and-asset-management platform. This role involves owning the codebase, setting the roadmap, leading the team, and driving an AI-native rebuild of the platform. The focus is on reimagining the platform's capabilities with AI at the center, not just maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical and product roadmap, translating business priorities into an engineering plan.
• Drive all technical aspects including architecture, code quality, security, data modeling, performance, and release engineering.
• Ship AI features, including natural-language assistants and agentic workflows, from plan to production.
• Lead and grow the engineering team, mentoring existing members and establishing best practices.
• Increase shipping velocity and harden the codebase through modernization, data layer improvements, and test automation.
• Act as the technical representative for ToolHound, communicating clearly with stakeholders and customers.

Requirements

• Senior .NET expert with deep, current C# / ASP.NET Core (through .NET 8–10) experience.
• Ability to immediately own, read, fix, and reshape a large, mature codebase.
• Genuine generalist ('jack of all trades') with the ability to quickly learn and work across web, mobile, data, infra, and AI.
• Experience designing, deploying, and operating cloud systems.
• Proficiency in SQL, including data modeling, querying, tuning, and reasoning about production databases.
• Hands-on experience with cross-platform mobile development, including .NET MAUI (or Xamarin/native), scanning, camera, and offline sync.
• Shipped production software using foundation models (LLM tool use, retrieval, evals, guardrails) with a point of view on multi-tenant safety.
• Proven technical leadership experience, including setting direction, mentoring, and improving quality in a small, high-ownership team.
• Strong product and business instinct to prioritize effectively and defend a roadmap.
• Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to build trust with non-engineers.
