About the Role
SP Industries Inc. is seeking an Electrical Assembler in Gardiner, NY, responsible for electrical assembly and completing work orders to ensure on-time delivery, quality workmanship, and compliance with customer requirements. The ideal candidate will possess attention to detail, a focus on operational goals, clear communication, and a proactive approach to process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble mechanical system components, sub-assemblies, and top-level assemblies under supervisor direction.
- Prepare equipment for testing.
- Interpret drawings, process procedures, and other documentation to assemble components.
- Route, wire, assemble, and install electrical and electronic components in freeze dryers according to specifications.
- Meet documented specifications and quality standards in a cost-effective, timely manner.
- Track additional expenses, identify cost reduction opportunities, and recommend operational improvements.
- Prepare and assemble electro-mechanical systems and sub-assemblies.
- Work with control applications, including servos, AC/DC motors and drives, and pneumatics.
- Use electrical schematics, drawings, and process procedures to assemble components.
- Test, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical systems.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area and complete assigned 5S duties.
- Complete required manufacturing paperwork accurately and on time.
- Follow all applicable safety policies, precautions, recommendations, and procedures.
- Recommend process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and work instructions within the Quality Management System.
- Assist other production and non-production departments as needed.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by supervision or management.
Requirements
- Minimum high school graduate level required.
- Must be able to perform Shop Math.
- Strong analytical skills are required.
- Able to work with various voltages, including high voltage applications (440 VAC).
- Work in compliance with divisional health, safety and environmental procedures.
- Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout-tagout methods.
- Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts.
- Report defects in any equipment or protective device.
- Ensure required protective equipment is used for assigned tasks.
- Attend all required health, safety and environmental training.
- Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor.
- Assist in investigating accidents/incidents.
- Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct.
