About the Role
Community Options, Inc. is seeking dedicated individuals to provide person-centered care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role offers professional growth opportunities and the chance to make a meaningful impact in the community.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Assist with daily routines including cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and personal hygiene
- Monitor health and medical needs and report concerns immediately
- Support the development of independent and community-based skills
- Participate in community, social, and recreational activities with individuals
- Transport individuals to medical appointments and community activities
- Maintain accurate and timely program documentation and billable records
- Build support networks by maintaining relationships with families, businesses, and community members
- Cooperate with license and department staff during inspections or investigations
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
- Ability to establish comfortable and supportive relationships with individuals
- Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
- Successful completion of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
