About the Role
Community Options, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide person-centered care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in McKinney Falls, TX. This role offers professional growth and the chance to make a difference, with paid training provided for those with no prior experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide attendant services, including transportation to work, medical appointments, and errands.
- Assist with daily living activities such as cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and personal hygiene.
- Monitor individual health and report any concerns promptly.
- Support the development of independent and community-based skills.
- Engage individuals in community, social, and recreational activities.
- Drive individuals to appointments and community events.
- Complete program documentation and billable records accurately and on time.
- Build support networks by fostering relationships with community members, businesses, and families.
- Cooperate with staff during inspections, inquiries, or investigations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to build a supportive relationship with individuals.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm during crises.
- Successful completion of background checks (criminal, central registry, child abuse registry) and drug testing.
