About the Role
The Data Engineer 2 designs, builds, and maintains data processing architectures to convert structured and unstructured data into enterprise-scale insights. This role focuses on cloud-based data solutions supporting business intelligence, analytics, and operational reporting within the Home Health Data Engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and integrations for ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
- Build and support Snowflake-based solutions, including loading, transforming, and validating data.
- Develop cloud-native data workflows using Azure services like Databricks and Storage.
- Contribute to data migration initiatives from on-premises systems to cloud platforms.
- Create and maintain ETL/ELT processes to ensure data accuracy and availability.
- Develop and support API-based integrations, including MuleSoft, for secure data exchange.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues in collaboration with senior engineers.
- Collaborate with business analysts and architects to deliver effective data solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and testing to ensure adherence to engineering standards.
- Support data quality, governance, and security initiatives to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Document technical solutions, processes, and operational procedures.
- Continuously learn and adopt new technologies to improve platform capabilities.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse technologies.
- Working knowledge of Azure cloud services including Databricks, Storage Accounts, and Azure DevOps.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with Python or another data engineering programming language.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, data integration patterns, and transformation techniques.
- Familiarity with Git-based source control, CI/CD concepts, and software development best practices.
- Basic understanding of data modeling, database design, and cloud architecture principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Must provide high-speed DSL or cable modem (minimum 25 Mbps download/10 Mbps upload).
- Must have a dedicated space lacking interruptions to protect PHI/HIPAA information.
