About the Role

The State Street Cyber Architecture & Engineering team is seeking a Secure Configuration Systems Engineer to deliver architectural solutions, platforms, pipelines, and security tooling. This role involves designing, implementing, and supporting agile solutions and processes for a large number of applications and infrastructure platforms, with a focus on secure configuration management and system hardening.

Responsibilities

Ensure Security Configuration best practices are implemented and adhered to.
Establish Secure Baseline configurations for all State Street ITAM assets.
Develop custom solutions using technologies like Ansible, Chef Inspec, shell scripting, etc., for implementing configuration controls.
Conduct risk assessments based on the NIST framework for critical assets.
Develop security guidelines, policies, and procedures pertaining to the Secure Configuration framework.
Collaborate with engineers to promote software and platform configuration best practices across the organization.
Design solutions with monitoring, auditing, reliability, and security at their core.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies.
Understand enterprise requirements and develop holistic technical solutions.
Deliver tasks based on project objectives and technically support projects through to completion.
Ensure deliverables are completed within target timeframes and are consistently of high quality, documented, and support transition of operational activities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT), computer science, or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience in industry, government, or consulting roles.
Proven technical solutioning experience with current and emerging technologies including Agile Development, DevOps, System Hardening, DevSecOps, Cybersecurity.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills across internal and external organizations.
Ability to prioritize and manage several projects or priorities simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of personnel (executive to entry level).
