About the Role
The State Street Cyber Architecture & Engineering team is seeking a Secure Configuration Systems Engineer to deliver architectural solutions, platforms, pipelines, and security tooling. This role involves designing, implementing, and supporting agile solutions and processes for a large number of applications and infrastructure platforms, with a focus on secure configuration management and system hardening.
Responsibilities
- Ensure Security Configuration best practices are implemented and adhered to.
- Establish Secure Baseline configurations for all State Street ITAM assets.
- Develop custom solutions using technologies like Ansible, Chef Inspec, shell scripting, etc., for implementing configuration controls.
- Conduct risk assessments based on the NIST framework for critical assets.
- Develop security guidelines, policies, and procedures pertaining to the Secure Configuration framework.
- Collaborate with engineers to promote software and platform configuration best practices across the organization.
- Design solutions with monitoring, auditing, reliability, and security at their core.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies.
- Understand enterprise requirements and develop holistic technical solutions.
- Deliver tasks based on project objectives and technically support projects through to completion.
- Ensure deliverables are completed within target timeframes and are consistently of high quality, documented, and support transition of operational activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT), computer science, or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience in industry, government, or consulting roles.
- Proven technical solutioning experience with current and emerging technologies including Agile Development, DevOps, System Hardening, DevSecOps, Cybersecurity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across internal and external organizations.
- Ability to prioritize and manage several projects or priorities simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of personnel (executive to entry level).
