About the Role
The Service Technician I is a key associate responsible for providing an outstanding customer experience while maintaining cost and expense controls. This role involves troubleshooting, performing repairs, and delivering excellent service for single-family rental homes.
Responsibilities
- Assess situations quickly to determine necessary steps for resolving service requests
- Provide outstanding customer service and represent company standards
- Conduct business in accordance with company policies and state/federal regulations
- Maintain fleet vehicle and inventory within company guidelines
- Diagnose and perform repairs on electrical, plumbing, appliances, and irrigation systems
- Repair structural elements including stairs, gates, fences, flooring, and cabinetry
- Maintain interior/exterior lighting, fireplaces, and security systems
- Address leaks, wall repairs, and pool area maintenance
- Schedule and perform routine preventive service on residential properties
- Report major repairs and requisitions prior to expenditure
- Identify and correct unsafe property conditions
- Complete service requests in a professional and timely manner
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality
- Adhere to all fleet policies and maintain a safe driving record
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license in the working state
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in general service or related responsibilities
- Must possess own basic tools for residential service
- Available for on-call service work
- Available to work weekends and evenings
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Knowledge of pertinent laws, EPA, and OSHA regulations
- Satisfactory background and drug screen
