About the Role

The Temporary Food Service Coordinator prepares and provides food to Navigation Center guests, maintaining kitchen, food prep, and pantry cleanliness. This is a Full-time, non-exempt, union position.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the day's meal by microwaving food when needed.
• Rotates meals from freezer to refrigerator during their assigned shift to support the next shift with meal service preparation.
• Follows all applicable health guidelines for food safety handling.
• Keeps the kitchen and food preparation tools and supplies clean at all times.
• Keeps logs of food deliveries and when food is provided to guests.
• Keeps the community room clean at all times, responsible for sweeping and/or mopping of any immediate hazardous conditions.
• Alerts the Supervisor on Duty of any issues requiring immediate attention from a Maintenance Worker.
• Keeps the pantry organized and clean.
• Ensures the cleanliness of the refrigerators and freezers.
• Provides courteous and informative guest services.
• Follows cleaning checklist and assigned shift duties daily.
• Completes all verbal and written instructions and duties in a satisfactory manner.
• Wears an apron, non-slip shoes, pants, hair tied back, hair net and cap for proper safety and sanitation.
• Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Covid vaccination and negative TB test required.
• Background check completed upon acceptance of job offer.

Benefits

• Paid sick time is accrued according to the San Francisco Paid Sick Leave Ordinance (PSLO).
• Employees earn 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked.
