About the Role

Jericho Road Community Health Center is seeking a Pharmacist to join their Pharmacy Department. This role involves performing and overseeing daily dispensing of pharmaceutical services, medication therapy management, drug utilization reviews, and collaborating with healthcare providers to optimize patient care and financial considerations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee daily workflow responsibilities of dispensing pharmaceutical services, including filling prescriptions, ordering medications, delivering medications, and maintaining records.
  • Make recommendations regarding medication therapy management on a multi-disciplinary team and document in EMR.
  • Perform drug utilization reviews (DURs) to ensure safe and appropriate medication use.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to consider financial implications for patients.
  • Maintain electronic medical records efficiently and maximize resources.
  • Oversee inventory management and compliance with the 340B program.
  • Oversee correct storage and disposal of damaged and expired medications.
  • Monitor purchase of pharmacy supplies and maintain appropriate drug inventory levels.
  • Remain current with laws, regulations, and clinical recommendations governing pharmacy practice.
  • Ensure 340B compliance by assisting with inventory management.
  • Adhere to professional code of ethics and HRSA requirements.
  • Serve as a leader and liaison between the Chief of Pharmacy Services and staff to foster effective communication and initiatives.
  • Oversee interview and hiring process in collaboration with the HR team.
  • Lead Pharmacy staff members by setting a professional example.
  • Conduct effective resource planning to maximize productivity.

Requirements

  • Licensed and registered pharmacist in the state of New York.
  • Minimum of five years' work experience in a high-volume community pharmacy setting.
  • Preferred experience in a 340B pharmacy setting.
  • Preferred 1-2 years management experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
  • Experience working with diverse, multilingual, and/or underserved populations highly desired.
  • Reliable transportation within the city of Buffalo and surrounding areas required.
