Responsibilities
- Keeps Deli service areas well stocked and appealing to meet customer demands.
- Greets customers, answers questions, and resolves concerns promptly and professionally.
- Ensures merchandise freshness, condition, proper pricing, and correct signage.
- Rotates product and handles spoiled, damaged, or near-expiration products according to company procedures.
- Operates slicing equipment to provide meats and cheeses.
- Packages items with price, weight, and date stickers.
- Prepares ready-to-eat foods, platters, and trays.
- Safely uses knives and kitchen utensils.
- Adheres to company recipes and safety policies when preparing food items.
- May operate cash register and handle money according to policies and procedures.
- Adheres to company and state laws regarding tobacco and alcohol sales.
- Maintains general sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and guidelines.
- Ensures work areas, equipment, counters, and display cases are clean and meet health and OSHA requirements.
- Disposes of trash properly.
- Assists in inventory control through time and temperature practices.
- Minimizes losses by properly handling products and following company recipes.
- May assist with baling cardboard or other related duties (training provided).
- May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries using power or hand jacks (training provided).
- Ensures smooth department and store function by cooperating with co-workers and superiors.
- Continuously improves job performance.
- Utilizes all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
