About the Role

Responsibilities

• Keep Deli service areas well stocked and appealing to meet customer demands.
• Greet customers, answer questions, and resolve concerns politely and professionally.
• Ensure merchandise freshness, proper pricing, and correct signage.
• Rotate products and handle spoiled or damaged items according to company procedures.
• Operate slicing equipment to provide meats and cheeses.
• Package items with price, weight, and date stickers.
• Prepare ready-to-eat foods, platters, and trays.
• Safely use knives and kitchen utensils.
• Adhere to company recipes and safety policies when preparing food.
• Operate cash register and handle money according to policies and procedures.
• Adhere to company and state laws regarding tobacco and alcohol sales.
• Maintain general sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and guidelines.
• Ensure work areas, equipment, and display cases are clean and meet health and OSHA requirements.
• Dispose of trash properly.
• Assist in inventory control through time and temperature practices.
• Minimize losses by returning products to refrigeration and following company recipes.
• Assist with baling cardboard and other related duties (training provided).
• Assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, and storing deliveries (training provided).
• Ensure smooth department and store function by cooperating with co-workers and superiors.
• Continuously improve job performance.
• Utilize all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
